This blog is for my friends of Lourenzo Marques dispersed know that there where and which recall with nostalgia.


Path of my life since 1960

I lived in Mozambique in various locations, but most of the time in the city of reddish acacias, Lourenzo Marques,(today Maputo) where my two sons where born.

Until my trip to Portugal I was working in Autonomous Services of Electricity (SAE) and is then responsible for operation and maintenance of small diesel-electric power stations.


In June 1974 I leaving Mozambique to Portugal to persue my profession in Petrosul, at that time the biggest refinary in Europe, today Petrogal, performing the functions of Head of Utilities area. These and other, incorporating a set of three steam generators, high pressure and high capacity, providing steam to the entire manufactoring process and a power station, equiped with turogenerators sets of 20 MW each.


In January 1977 emigrated to Macao, has been hired to go lead the power station of 80 MW of installed capacity.(Today, ofcourse, has a grater capacity). In that time was equipped with three turbogenerator sets driven by gas turbines of 15 MW each and twelve generator sets powered by diesel engines with power from 2 MW to 5 MW.


During my stay in Macao I had the oportunity to experience the beautiful city of Hong Kong to where moved frequently, until South China city of Guangzhou, Taiwan, Singapore (beautiful city and very clean). I went to Thailand and Philipines, here I saw in activity the smallest volcano in the world - an interesting curiosity -

In January 1981 finally came to Portugal and joined the staff of the multinational Siemens S.A., in Lisbon, led most of the time the Industrial Sector of Turbines. This sector selling, installing and maintaining not only did the turbines, but also power stations for industry, equiped with steam turbogenerator sets with capacities up to 80 MW, and gas turbogenerator sets up to 10 MW.


At the end of december 1995 I left the company by mutual agreement, retiring me two years later.


In summary, this was the path of my life since 1960, when I married the woman of my life; wonderful creature!
